This Fluorite specimen comes from Gyöngyösoroszi, Hungary in the size of 3.2 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm (inventory number #H190803). A lustrous, greenish yellow, perfect cubic Fluorite crystal is graciously perched on top of a sliver of andesite matrix from a well-known Hungarian locality. The crystal is perfectly complete, it's 1.1 cm high and 1.2 cm wide. It has only some contact marks covered by drusy Quartz. Gyöngyösoroszi produced wonderful and widely known specimens, mostly big starbursts of Calcites, Quartzes but every now and then Fluorites, Stibnite, Rhodochrosite, etc. also appeared. This now defunct and recultivated locality is only a piece of mining history, material from here - especially rarities like Fluorite - are hard to come by on the market. This is a great example and a real treat to anyone who likes Fluorites from rare locales. See the video Here on Youtube. Now in a private collection.
